Beth Wright

Director

Beth Wright brings over 47 years of professional experience, having retired from a career at a leading insurance company. Her journey of service extends beyond the corporate world, with a deep commitment to community outreach and missions. She served as the secretary of the Mission Board at her church and has traveled on three mission trips to Mazatlan, Guadalajara, and Obregon, Mexico. Additionally, Beth dedicated several years to programs that provided nourishment and compassion to homeless individuals.

Beth has been married for 45 years and believes that prayer, praise and chocolate are key answers to life’s most pressing questions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs, gardening, fishing and embracing the joys of life one day at a time.

In her obedience to God, Beth founded Simply Love, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals to families in need and sharing her belief that “The greatest of these is LOVE.”

Lisa Rometti

President, BSBA, MSOL

Lisa Rometti brings over 20 years of experience working with children who have experienced trauma. She holds certifications in Trauma Parent Coaching, Poverty Training, Fetal Alcohol and other Neurobehavioral Conditions, Suicide Prevention, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention. Through fostering and adopting special needs children, Lisa recognized the need for a deeper understanding of trauma and nonprofit work. Inspired by experts like Diane Malbin and Dr. Karyn Purvis, she furthered her expertise and became certified in Present Moment Parenting under Tina Feigal, M.S. Ed.

Lisa’s passion for creating impactful change led her to earn a BSBA in Nonprofit Management and pursue an MSOL in the same field. She is pursuing her Masters in Arts in Christian Apologetics at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology. Her mission is to enhance nonprofit effectiveness, helping organizations overcome stagnation and achieve significant outcomes for the communities they serve.

Sharon Lovegrove

Vice President

Sharon Lovegrove has spent much of her adult life balancing work and raising children. With six years of experience as a secretary and Twenty Eight years at Jackson National, she built a strong foundation in the professional world. Alongside her career, Sharon raised three biological children and fostered seven others, two of whom she later adopted.

Sharon’s personal experience with the complexities of navigating life on the edge of financial stability has deeply influenced her commitment to serving others. She understands firsthand the challenges of making too much for government assistance, yet not enough to support her family. In addition to her primary job, she worked part-time at a local restaurant to make ends meet.

Her journey has given Sharon a unique understanding of life’s challenges, including homelessness, and has equipped her with invaluable insights into how to overcome adversity. Sharon’s greatest strength lies in her compassion for others, and her unwavering faith in God.

Sharon is dedicated to helping families in need and she seeks to ease the burdens of others by offering practical support and a message of hope and Love.

Lisa Gottlieb-Kinnaird

Secretary

Lisa Gottlieb-Kinnaird has spent her professional life doing what she does best—keeping things organized, running smoothly, and communicating clearly. As an administrative assistant, she enjoyed the challenge of juggling details, solving problems, and supporting teams behind the scenes. Along the way, she added graphic design to her skill set, creating print and web materials to enhance her company’s visual image and public presence.

Lisa has a heart for assisting others, recognizing that in doing so, she serves her Savior, Jesus Christ. She has taught English as a Second Language to refugees and mentored them, helping ensure that they felt grounded and productive in their new country. She has been a church secretary for many years and aided church members through programs and individually. She has participated in street ministries and looks forward to helping the residents of Eaton County become more food secure through the work of Simply Love.

Currently, Lisa is celebrating the joys of retirement. She enjoys walking, traveling, gardening, listening to and playing traditional folk music, developing traditional skills, and engaging with her three Himalayan cats.

Renee Gleason

Treasurer

Renee Gleason’s lifelong commitment to serving others is rooted deeply in her family’s story. Her oldest brother, Eliot, was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, relying on a wheelchair by age 11. As the disease progressed it lead to numerous procedures aimed at preserving mobility. Renee, her mother, and her siblings worked together every day to support Eliot’s needs, forming a family culture built on compassion, teamwork, and resilience.

Service became a way of life. Each year, the family volunteered at the local Jerry Lewis Telethon, raising awareness and support. Summers we spent at a MDA camp, helping individuals with MD experience independence and joy. Eliot’s passing at 22 deeply shaped Renee’s sense of empathy and commitment to caring for others.

Tragedy struck again when her brother Joe was killed by a drunk driver. Instead of turning inward, Renee and her family turned their grief into action. They volunteered with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), where Renee also served as a speaker. Additionally, they served as victim advocates for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, offering support to others navigating loss and trauma

Renee’s dedication extends into every part of her life. She has worked for the same company for 25 years, demonstrating loyalty, integrity, and a strong work ethic. She is also an active member of South Side Heaven, a memorial club that hosts fundraiser dinners to support families experiencing loss or financial hardship.

Renee’s life experiences have shaped her into a steady, empathetic advocate for those in need—someone who understands that service is not just something you do, but something you live. She is a dedicated leader whose compassion is reflected in every aspect of her life.

Bruce Telfer

Consultant

Bruce Telfer retired from a 27+ year career with Michigan State University, where he served first as a police officer and later as a detective. His work in law enforcement shaped the qualities he’s known for today: unwavering integrity, strong ethics, and a steady presence under pressure.

After retiring, Bruce wasn’t ready to slow down. To prevent boredom, he joined Target as a Guest Service Representative. In both roles serving the public in uniform and supporting guests at the service desk or as a cashier Bruce demonstrated the same core strengths: genuine friendliness, clear and respectful communication, and professionalism even in the busiest moments.

As a child, Bruce spent many summers as a camper at Rock Lake Christian Assembly, a place that quickly became a cornerstone in his life. The camp’s influence stayed with him well into adulthood. He served as a faculty member for many years and today he serves as President of the camps Board of Trustees.

Singing is one of Bruce’s passions. Over the years, he has shared his voice both as part of a group and as a soloist, performing at his home church as well as visiting congregations. Every song that he sings is an expression of praise to his Heavenly Father.

Bruce’s greatest joys are his family and his beloved dogs especially Shelties and Dachshunds. He’s also an enthusiastic collector. Whether he’s selecting Thomas Kinkade artwork for their home or adding to his growing collection of nutcrackers, Bruce and his wife enjoy spending time together searching for new treasures.

Bruce brings this same heart for service to his work as a consultant with Simply Love. His dedication, compassion, and steady leadership make him a valued part of our mission to feed families in need.
